Tilly's Story...
Meet one of our newest additions, Tilly.

She's a beautiful Shepherd mix that has come from a rough past but is looking for a golden future. She initially came from a hoarding case, was brought to a shelter in West Virginia, was taken in by another rescue, adopted and then given back up because she digs holes in the backyard and if you leave out an item like a shoe or brush she'll chew on it. And so, she ended up here at ESP. The poor girl has been tossed around and so the next place that she goes needs to be home.

Her trek in finding the person that will keep her forever is not quite over, but we know someone with a heart that has some love to give will lay affectionate eyes on this very sweet and confused girl. Tilly is a product of her past, and is extremely shy and a touch introverted. She gets scared easily by things that we find routine so she will need someone with a lot of patience and understanding. She's come a very long way from the shelter and we're confident that with some learning and love she'll warm up quickly here and become more socialized. She's very loving and affectionate, estimated to be around 1-2 years old.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tilly, a Manassas Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Manassas, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Manassas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manassas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manassas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manassas paves the way for another one to be saved.
