Button's Story...
Hi, I'm Button, and so aptly named. The phrase 'cute as a button' fits me like white on snow or golden on retriever. I'm a one-year-old Golden mix and a petite girl at 34 pounds. I was turned in to the Athens shelter with 12 other dogs with no explanation, so it's been a confusing and scary time for me. All this makes me a bit shy until I get to know you. But I don't want to be all alone, so I'm trying hard to overcome my fears. The nice folks at AGB found I will crawl into a lap to receive a treat - I am learning to like this cuddle bug stuff. They think I'll be just fine with a patient family willing to give me time to learn to trust again. I'm small in stature, but have a huge amount of affection to share. Are you willing to give this golden girl a chance? Wagging my tail in anticipation, Button. Please visit me at www.adoptagoldenbirmingham.com or call 205-937-2339 or email camcowen@charter.net

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Button, a BIRMINGHAM Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in BIRMINGHAM, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in BIRMINGHAM.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in BIRMINGHAM already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a BIRMINGHAM breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in BIRMINGHAM paves the way for another one to be saved.
