My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brick (and his brother Alex) were swooped up from the Memphis Animal Shelter so that we can make sure these Real Good Puppies grow up to be Real Good Dogs. Alex is a male, husky-lab mix about eight weeks old as of Valentine's weekend. His adoption fee will cover his first round of puppy shots, being neutered as soon as age appropriate, and being microchipped.

As adorable and irresistible as puppies are, particularly this cutie, we will be looking for just the right home for Brick to be able to call his forever home. The adopter will need to have a flexible schedule, experience in raising puppies, and lots and lots of patience as Alex learns all of his puppy skills and manners. He will also need to be in a home with a secure, fenced in yard that will allow him to run and play safely as he grows up.

If this sounds like you, and if you are willing to open up your home and heart to this sweet boy, then Brick will no doubt become a wonderful lifelong companion. Preference will be given to someone with prior breed experience, experience with puppies, and a strong vet reference indicating a record of quality care given to former or current pets.

Please visit www.realgoodrescue.com to submit an electronic application if you are interested in adopting this or any other Real Good Dog.

We adopt dogs from Memphis Animal Shelter when we can. The shelter has an 83% euthanasia rate, one of the highest in the country. Unfortunately, any dog coming from Memphis Animal Shelter, and most other shelters for that matter, will have been in contact with contagious illness. Even though the dogs have been in foster care and appear to be in good health, they may become stressed when changing environments and exhibit signs and symptoms of illness. If you have other pets, they need to be up to date on vaccines before bringing a shelter dog into your home. We will take the adopted animal back, but we are not responsible for your other animal's vet care. We always disclose where the dogs have come from. Please ask for any information about the dogs and exercise due caution if you have immunocompromised animals.
