My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Golden Retriever/Shepherd
Age: 1 year old
Weight: 45 pounds
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Yes
Good with kids: Yes
Energy Level: High

Meet Cody! He is one gorgeous boy. He is a good boy. Very playful. Good with dogs, cats and kids. He is a Velcro dog, meaning he will follow you everywhere. He loves head scratches and will nuzzle you for attention. He is a great cuddler. He loves to play and will initiate play with his butt in the air and elbows on the ground. Cody also like squeaky toys and he would love to play ball. His whole back end moves when he wags his tail. He is an energetic boy who still would need some basic training though he does sit/lay down on command sometimes. He needs a fun way to learn new tricks because he is still a youngster. He would be great with single, couple or family with kids but probably too high energy for a senior adopter. Do you like to have fun? Do you hike, jog, or take long walks? Cody would love to be your buddy.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
