Meet West. What a sweet little guy. Isn't he handsome? He likes dogs, cats and kids. He just wants to find a home to give him the love he deserves. He loves head scratches and will nuzzle you for attention. He loves to play. He will engage other dogs in play with his butt in the air and elbows on the ground. He also likes a good squeaky toy or a ball thrown for him. West's whole back end will shake when he wags his little stubby tail. So cute! He looks outside of his kennel for human attention and will give you those puppy dog eyes. He is a great candidate for kids because he doesn't min his ears or tail being pulled on. He is a shelter favorite because he is just an all around friendly little guy. He still needs some basic training but he loves his humans and would like to please. Does West sound like a special little guy to you? Fill out an adoption application!

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
