Update 2-17-14We just came from the vet with Biscuit. After a process of weening him off the pred that started we he came to us in May, his blood count is completely normal and he is off the meds! She still recommends no vaccinations, but other than that, he is completely normal.
Biscuit is happy and healthy and a wonderful companion! He keeps up with and gets along great with all his foster brothers.
Biscuit is a 10 yrs young male cocker spaniel with a golden buff colored coat.He came to us from the cleveland APL, and is just the most wonderful little guy!!!!!Biscuit is described by his foster mom as perfect, and extremely well tempered.Biscuit has one of those laid back, docile personalities; he is loyal and loving, he gets along great with other dogs, and is housetrained.
He will make a fantastic fur friend for a senior/retired person that is looking for a nice companion dog.Biscuit is very obedient, and does not chew things up or bark excessively like an energetic youngster, he only needs a person to love, and he is very good at that!!!!!
When Biscuit was at the APL, he was diagnosed with ITP (Immune Thrombocytopenia), it was discovered through a routine blood test.He was treated with prednisone, and responded well to it. He is now doing well, and being weaned off of this medication.Because of this diagnosis, he cannot receive future vaccines due to the risk of triggering a relapse.Other than this blood disorder, he is a healthy and happy cocker boy who would love a forever home of his own to spend his retirement years in.
Biscuit is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and is heartworm negative
