Pumpkin's Story...
Pumpkin is an adorable lil' 2006-ish mini (or rather big mini) that came to AAE from the feedlot in October 2009 when we went to pick up a load of horses. She wasn't 'on' the feedlot, per se, but had been bought by someone that worked there. There was plenty of room for her in the tack box, so we couldn't leave her behind. This little gal can move. She was scared of people, and was not interested in getting to know anyone. Thanks to ongoing attention by our volunteers, she's coming around very nicely, and she has worked in our youth activities; however, she really needs her own person.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pumpkin, a El Dorado Hills Miniature was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Miniature for sale in El Dorado Hills, or seeking a Miniature from a breeder in El Dorado Hills.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Dorado Hills already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Dorado Hills breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Miniature breeders who help with Miniature rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Dorado Hills paves the way for another one to be saved.
