Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you were to look up the words happiness and joyful, there you will see Layla's picture! This one year old flashy fawn Boxer mix is one of the most grateful dogs we have ever saved!
Layla's story, like so many, just broke our hearts. She was brought into the shelter by her former family and their 10 year old child. She clung onto the child hoping he would not let her go. Her family claimed that the landlord kicked her out, but they were unwilling to work with the shelter volunteers on keeping her out of the shelter as she was clearly terrified! When we heard she was cowering in her cage, we went to meet her and she greeted us with exuberant Boxer kisses. She knew she was about to be saved!
Layla seems to adore kids and is housebroken. When she goes for a walk she is all smiles! She has the most expressive gorgeous eyes. Here coloring is just magnificent and she is a show stopper. If you are looking for a dog to keep you active, Layla is your girl.
Layla currently is fostered with other dogs and children in the home. She would love to have a daily running partner in the day, and a cuddle buddy at night! Layla bonds quickly and is a wonderful petite size weighing 40 pounds. Sweet Layla has not had exposure to cats. In order to ensure safety, we would prefer her not to be in a home with a cat.
Layla is all ears waiting for a family to call her own at Take Me Home!
