TRUE SURVIVOR! Two words that perfectly describe Elsie, a 5-6 yr. old 18 lb. terrier mix who was rescued from Indiana's high kill shelter. She has obvious signs of previous physical trauma. This sweet girl had a fractured jaw that went untreated. Because of this her nose is off center. She has been examined by a vet and the fracture is healed. Her bite is sound and it does not affect her eating. After everything Elsie went through she was discarded. Her paperwork from Indiana listed her as abandoned. Elsie has had quite a rough life but you would never know it by her sweet, gentle nature. She endured sorrow, but has chosen to embrace happiness. And she is one happy dog! Just by looking at her, you can tell she knows she is safe and will never be hurt again. This gal absolutely loves attention and is not shy to ask for it. She is one serious snuggle bug. She loves to sit in her foster mom or dad's lap while on the couch. She also cuddles right up to them when it’s time to go to sleep. She greets her foster parents at the door with a tail that wags a thousand times a second. Elsie is crazy about her belly rubs. She is very affectionate and loving and everyone who meets her falls head over heels for her. How could you not? Elsie is just too adorable for words! She lives with 3 dogs and 3 cats and gets along with all of them. She does well with other dogs in social situations, but prefers males over females. This sweetie would prefer that she were the only dog, so she can be the center of attention. She loves to run around in her fenced in back yard and play hide and seek with her foster mom. Elsie walks on a leash like a champ. She also loves looking out the window when going for a car ride. She is very smart and is housetrained. She barks if she wants to go out. She has not been crated in her foster home as she is not destructive. She also is not food aggressive. Elsie is a remarkable dog with a disposition to match. This sweetheart deserves to have her very own forever family. A family that will love her unconditionally and can see both her inner and outer beauty. Elsie is a True Survivor!
