Shirley's Story...
Shirley was picked up stray (along with Laverne) and she has not been reclaimed by her owner. If she is not reclaimed she will be available for adoption on 3-1-14. Shirley is an older girl, approximately 7 yrs. Despite being an older girl, she is very sweet and gentle. She could use a bath and probably a shave down and she could be a pretty girl. We suspect that Shirley is deaf, so that is something to consider if you are interested in adopting her. Stop in and meet this sweet girl and fill out an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shirley, a Troy Australian Shepherd/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie for sale in Troy, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Troy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Troy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Troy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Border Collie breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Troy paves the way for another one to be saved.
