My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thumper is a very cute pit bull/heeler mix, who is about a year old, a nice
size at 40 pounds, and spent about half of his short life growing up in a
shelter environment, where he learned some bad behaviors. In spite of this,
during the last couple of months I have been fostering him, I have found
him to be delightfully entertaining and a real snuggler. Thumper learns
quickly, is now housetrained, and not so nippy (heeler trait). He still
gets uncomfortable in new situations or meeting people for the first time,
but not nearly as much as he used to. He can be dominant when playing with
dogs, but has learned to get along with the other dogs in the household.
Although he would probably like having an occasional doggie playmate, he
mostly enjoys being with people, will bond quickly, and would do fine as
the only dog in the home. A past experience in a previous home when he was
just six months old made him uncomfortable around young children, so he
will do best in an adult-only home at this stage in his development.
Thumper enjoys going for walks, riding in the car, comes when called, sits
on command, and has so much potential. He's curious about cats, but will
probably chase them, if they run. Thumper has the affectionate qualities of
a pit bull, along with the herding/mouthy behavior of a heeler, loves to
run, and is an easy-to-manage medium-sized dog. He's smart, willing to
please, and is still very much a puppy at heart.
