My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING—“Porter” is not in foster care with BAPBR and we make no guarantees about his/her health or temperament. We are providing a service to his/her owner or foster home to help with appropriate rehoming. Please contact this dog’s owner/foster home directly if you are interested in meeting or adopting him/her.

Meet the wonderful Porter! Porter is a 2 year old, neutered, male pit bull type dog mix who is currently searching for his forever home! Porter is located in Ashland, OR.

Porter hasn’t always lived a life of riches, Porter was taken away during a neglect case, when he was then brought to the City of Yreka Animal Shelter. His case has since ended and Porter is ready to find a loving home where he gets to live out the rest of his life surrounded by love and toys and fun memories! Porter is a happy go-lucky guy, always ready for a good time. He loves car rides and especially loves ending his day relaxing with his people. He also loves going on walks, but will need a new family who is dedicated to teaching him to walk well on a leash(freedom harnesses work great!) and use positive training to work on his other manners too. While he is still learning how to be a dog, and how to interact with other dogs, he is loving the journey and will be happy to have a forever family that will show him how to be a dog and continue his learning and growth. Porter loves all people, he is eager and happy to meet anybody and everybody, sometimes just gets a little too excited. Porter has not been around cats or small children so a home without them is recommended.

Porter needs a positive and patient guardian, someone who will love him and understand that he needs. He’s waited this long, and it’s his turn to find a life full of happiness! Porter is heart worm negative and started on Heart Worm Preventative. He is also getting very good w/ leash walking, good to car travel, knows how to use doggy doors and likes dog houses.
