My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Liam is a 2 year old, 55lb love bug. He is extremely athletic and active and will need a home/family that can keep up with that and put his talents to good use. Of course he will snuggle in close at night and is quite the cuddler!

Liam was found as a stray and was in horrendous condition. Not only was he incredibly thin, his feet and nose were cracked and bleeding from weather, his nails were mangled and he was mentally very traumatized and afraid. He had been running for quite some time out in the winter, alone, scared and cold so it was no surprise that he was slow to trust.

Once Liam gained some weight and got comfortable in his foster home we began to see more of his true personality shine through. It is wonderful!!!
He is still shy when meeting people for the first time but after time he warms up and will be your best buddy. He will keep you smiling and laughing and surely help you stay active with him!

He does well with some dogs but is a bit rude or overbearing in the way he greets and plays, so it will take a special dog to put up with him :) A laid back pup would be a great option and would compliment him well. He seems to do better with younger dogs and he is great buddies (after a lot of time and effort!!) with the male at his foster home.

Liam should go to a home without cats. He is also very intense in everything he does (playing, taking treats, showing affection etc.) so we recommend children over 10 for this guy. He is completely house and crate trained and is a quick learner.

This gorgeous boy has some allergies and sensitivities so it is necessary that he be on a grain free diet. He also needs a good wipe down after coming in from outside to be sure he doesn't get itchy. It seems to be worse in the summer and less irritations in the winter when all allergens are dormant. He also gets coconut oil to help keep his skin and coat looking and feeling nice.

If you are an active person or are familiar with or interested in dog sports please consider adopting Liam. He should really find a home where he can showcase his stellar qualities!!! applications can be found at www.mercysdoorpetrescue.org -this is one sweet boy who will NOT dissapoint!
