Barrett is a beautiful chocolate lab. He is 4 years old and weighs 65 lbs. This beautiful boy came to us from a rural shelter and he had a severe injury to his left eye. He was taken immediately for medical attention and it was decided that the injury was so extreme that he needed to have his eye removed. No one knows the story of the injury, but this awesome boy has recovered remarkably and is doing well with one eye. If that wasn't enough bad news for him, it was discovered that he was heartworm positive. This poor boy couldn't catch a break. Well, he has now. Barrett has had his heartworm treatment and is now on his way to a very healthy and happy life. Barrett is very loving to humans and is extra sweet. He gets along great with other dogs, but can be a bit on the dominant side. He is a beautiful boy who has had some bad luck and is looking for his forever home to change that luck. Barrett does okay on a lead, but can use some more work, he takes good boy treats nicely, is crate trained and seems to be house trained. Barrett loves attention from his people and is very attentive. He would be a great candidate for obedience training. We are not sure how he would do with cats, but can cat test if necessary. Barrett has been neutered, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and is micro-chipped. He is also being kept on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative. Barrett is a great boy - beautiful as well as sweet. He would like nothing more in life than to find the perfect loving home.
