Kong's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Kong's Story...
Kong is a 3 year old pure bred neutered Black and Tan male Doberman up for adoption through Save Me Scout Rescue, a new rescue in Northern Colorado dedicated to pulling dogs from shelters that are at risk of being euthanized. In fact we are so new that Kong is the first dog we saved!

Kong is a sweet, energetic boy who loves to chew on balls, ropes, and squeaky toys. He is potty trained and crate trained. He goes right into his crate for his meal or loves to chew on a good big bone in his crate. He is also quiet in his crate so if he got enough exercise he could possibly also be in an apartment or townhome. He is good with men, women, children and other dogs of all sizes if they react friendly to him. He is currently fostered with a resident neutered male Saint Bernard and the two love to wrestle and play. He needs a home without cats.

Kong originally kept coming to Larimer Humane Society because he was found running loose on multiple locations and the last time, around Christmas, his owners did not come for him. The shelter staff noticed that he would occassionally walk funny and thought maybe he had a condition called Wobbler's so they were unable to adopt him out and he was at risk of being euthanized unless pulled by a rescue. Once pulled, we took him to our vet to start treatment for the suspected Wobbler's but the medication didn't seem to have an effect. So at Kong's recheck we checked his hips instead. Turns out the vet was able to manipulate the left hip out of the socket, an indication of possible hip dysplasia. We took x-rays and he does have some mild hip dysplasia in his left hip but it is so mild it does not need treatment or surgery.

Kong's fee is $225.00 which includes his neuter, deworming, bordatella, distemper and rabies vaccinations, microchip and private training session. Please go to our website at www.savemescout.wix.com/savemescoutrescue for an adoption application.

Can't adopt? Please consider either fostering Kong or making a donation towards his care (food, blankets/beds, toys, treats, etc.). Also make sure to follow us on Facebook at Save Me Scout Rescue, which is free!

Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kong, a Loveland Doberman Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Doberman Pinscher for sale in Loveland, or seeking a Doberman Pinscher dog from a breeder in Loveland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Loveland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Loveland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Doberman Pinscher breeders who help with Doberman Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Loveland paves the way for another one to be saved.
