Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET NATE - NEEDS FOSTER OR ADOPTER ASAP!
**NOTE: This dog is currently located in the San Rafael area. Transport is available to the Sac/Davis area for an approved adopter or foster. All inquiries please email: pets.katrina@gmail.com
Nate is a handsome male white colored German Shepherd/Husky mix that is about 2 years old. Although he is a large breed mix, he is a nice manageable size, weighing about 60 - 70lbs. He has a gorgeous thick white coat, which has given him the nickname "Mr. Fluff" by his rescuers. :-)
Nate found himself in a high-kill shelter in Socal and he was very unhappy and fearful in his lonely strange surroundings. He ended up on Death Row and was out of time when we heard about his plight and knew we had to step up to help save him. Thankfully we were able to get him pulled out to save his life and have him transported up to Dog Shack in Norcal.
Some friends of Dog Shack kindly took him into their home for a short time, to help him decompress from his traumatic shelter experience. They have said that he has already started to really enjoy life again and become a happy, loving dog. He is a sweetheart and will give kisses and is generally quite mellow and rarely barks. Also he likes walks and does fine on a sensation harness.
Now Nate needs either a foster home or a permanent home. We are still learning more about him and he is still working on overcoming some fears, so we feel he would be best suited to a dog savvy home with large breed experience and no young little children. Also, although he seems to do fine with other dogs, it is preferable that for now he is the only dog in the home. He would likely do best in a more quiet or rural setting, rather than near busy city life.
If you could be a great match for Nate, to provide him a foster home or permanent home (we also offer foster-to-adopt), please contact us ASAP by email at: pets.katrina@gmail.com
*** NOTE: As a first step, please include a completed Adoption Application Form in your email, which can be found at:
