My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JD is a 11 month old neutered yellow male Lab who weighs 58 pounds. JD is a sweet, goofy boy. He is mostly housebroken and is crate trained. He need some training on leash and general house manners but is very eager to please. He is good with other dogs. He is OK with cats but will chase them, a lot. He is very affectionate and just loves any attention. He lived with a young child but approved for kids 8 and up for now as he may knock youngsters over accidentally. More on JD as his foster gets to know him better. Better pics on the way soon as these do not do him justice. He is approved for kids 8+

Update (01/13)I'm still looking for my forever family. I'm a lively boy that can either be alone or with other dogs. I need a fenced in yard or someone who will be able to exercise me. You see, I can be a little mischievous but it's because I'm curious. I'll be a year old on the 20th of January.
I'm quite the catch if you're looking for a boy that can have some energy but loves to cuddle. I've been told that's a hard balance to find and I have that quality. I'm crate trained and a good eater. I'm very smart and accepting of other dogs. But probably my greatest asset, I love to be loved on and I return it three-fold. This works great with kids!
I'm looking forward to one day meeting my forever family. I love my foster family but I think it would be great to have my very own forever family on my birthday!

Update (12/26) : JD is starting to settle. He is very sweet and he loves affection and craves attention. He gets overly excited when returning affection. He is sometimes a little over the top and doesn't realize how strong he is. This is easily redirected with guidance & belly rubs. He loves having both ears softly rubbed and being told he's a good boy in a soft voice. He plays well with the foster dogs. He does well in the crate. Now that he's been allowed freedom inside and interactions with us, he cries at night when going to bed but will settle down after a few minutes. He loves running around in the fenced in yard and will need someone to play with him to get out his energy. You could tell at the beginning that this freedom was a new thing but he quickly learned that he could stretch his legs and run. JD can be a counter surfer, stuffed animal stealer (he loves the flat toys with no stuffing) & very inquisitive. He really wants to please because he knows that is returned in love or treats. Training (as soon as possible), patience, exercise, fenced in yard & commitment to work with him is a must. More on JD as he settles into his foster home and learns the routine.
