Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dillinger is almost 2 yrs old (dob aprox 04-2013) Great Pyrenees/Lab mix. He is a total sweetie, likes everyone he meets, especially kids, and loves attention! Dillinger is dog friendly with any size dog, cat safe and has fun, playful personality. He is well mannered indoors with the run of the house, good on lead and a good car rider.
Dillinger is looking for an indoor home as he cant spend a lot of time outdoors when it's sunny because he has canine Discoid Lupus which causes the immune system to overprotect the hairless areas (usually the nose area) of uv light/sunlight. The hyper protection can cause a sore, blistering or flakey dry skin around the nose or other hairless areas. The goals of treating DLE are to control and resolve any facial skin reaction which includes using sunscreen on the dog's face area and limit exposure to ultraviolet light/sunlight. Typical medical maintenance care is a low dose steroid that is a very cheap med., and if a sore/blister does occur an oral or topical antibiotics or topical corticosteroids is often used.
Dillinger is neutered, heart worm negative, dewormed, fully vaccinated and microchipped. To adopt this love bug please complete the adoption application at www.wix.com/gprofok/gpr
