Meet Nika!
Nika is a wonderful little girl so full of life! She was found starving and alone on the streets, but she holds no grudges. She’s ready for adventure and whatever the day may hold!

Nika is approximately 4 years-old (but could possibly be bit younger, maybe 2- or 3-years-old) and right around 45 to 50 lbs. She is so kind and sweet — just thankful to have a second chance at life! From her “flying nun” ears to her “I didn’t do it mom” upside down look of innocence she will steal your heart!

She currently lives with several other dogs as well as cats. Nika is working on her dog introductions as well as basic training. She is working on playing appropriately with other dogs. She seems fine with the cats as long as they don’t run. We are not sure if her curiosity with the cats is innocent or if she dislikes them — however she has sniffed her feline foster siblings and has in no way harmed them.

Nika absolutely LOVES attention! We believe that in the past Nika was attention-starved causing her to yearn so deeply for it now. She has no separation anxiety and is crate-trained. She loves frozen stuffed kongs, rawhides, car rides (she is a perfect rider), walks and sleeping w/mom and dad in bed. Nika goes on walks with her canine brothers and sisters and behaves very well! It would be great if her forever home had a fenced-in yard.

Nika’s adoption fee is $250 and she’s located in Watertown, WI. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
