Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Female Maltese
age: about 4 years
weight: 8lb
Candy was rescued from a high kill shelter in S. Korea. Being more than 1-2 years old and weighing more than 5-6 lbs means no adoption in S. Korea. The most popular ages are less than 1-2 and ideal size is less than 6 lbs. Candy is not considered an adoptable dog in Korea, but we think she's just wonderful here in America!
So, here she is in the USA looking for her forever family.
Candy is a happy, brave girl who likes people. She is good with kids, but not too into other dogs. She does not start fights, but doesn't really like playing with other dogs. She would really prefer to live in a home without other dogs. She does seem fine with calm, secure dogs on the smaller side (less than 20 lbs.) She is very happy and affectionate.
She likes walks and to run around, but like many other small dogs, Candy has a small sign of luxating patella, which means slipping kneecap.
Candy was checked by the vet in Korea and from the US, but surgery is not needed since she doesn't feel pain and the condition isn't bad. She will need daily moderate exercise (like all dogs) and avoid jumping from high places.
Welcome Candy to your family and enjoy many years with her.

Who We Are
Welcome Home Dog Rescue is a 501c non-profit organization. We are a group of dedicated individuals who have gathered to bring about the much needed change in the ways our society deals with animal welfare. We are a coalition of all-volunteer, experienced dog owners/handlers who believe all dogs deserve a good home and with the balanced allocation of our unifying forces, we can make a difference that truly matters. To make the journey into reducing overpopulation and the number of dogs in shelters, Welcome Home Dog Rescue offers rescue and adoption services specific to the adopter’s needs and lifestyles so that both ends of the leash can find a happy home together.
