My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mercy is that rare human in a dog body! She is the most sensitive, responsive canine I’ve ever had the privilege of hanging out with. She intuitively knows when to come over to you—and when to keep her distance and just send a sweet smile your way.

Mercy loves to cuddle, but she’s not dependent on you for her to feel good. She loves to cuddle on the couch, play catch with a ball or wrestle on the floor—but she will entertain herself with glee if you’re busy.

Displaying such a gentle disposition and sweet nature, Mercy inspired a shelter worker to put in personal time finding a rescue group that would help Mercy while she waits for her forever home.

Today, Mercy is a healthy Staffordshire Terrier/Labrador mix, approximately two years old. She has reached and maintains her perfect weight, around 50 lbs. Mercy has all her vaccinations, is spayed, and has her micro-chip.

Mercy is:

• House-broken and crate-trained.
• Respectful of your home and possessions (non-destructive).
• Patient and affectionate -- she can sit tranquilly for hours, quietly being petted.
• Leash trained and a great low-impact exercise partner -- she enjoys clomping along with you on walks.
• A game of fetch, a swim in the pool or lake -- these things make this little girl's day.
• Mercy doesn't need a sole spotlight to shine. She is good with some dogs, but probably not with smaller pooches or the kitties.
