Paddy's Story...
Meet Paddy, an adorable 9-week-old puppy who is cute, cuddly, and full of playful puppy energy! Paddy and his brother Guinness recently entered foster care, and of the two boys, Paddy is the more cautious. Paddy, like his brother, weighs a perfectly plump 10 pounds, and he is super-sweet, inquisitive, and totally irresistible.
Of course, like all puppies, this cheerful, little chubby-chunk will need regular exercise, chew toys, and lots of attention, in order to grow up happy and healthy.
If you have room in your life for this thoroughly delightful puppy, please contact his foster mom at at pdcarson@cox.net. You can also stop by the FOTA Adoption House at 8476 Highland Road and ask for Paddy. The Adoption House is open weekdays from 1-6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon. All dogs adopted through Friends of the Animals are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. For more information about FOTA or to make a donation, please visit http://www.friendsoftheanimalsbr.org/.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Paddy, a Baton Rouge Blue Heeler/Basset Hound puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Blue Heeler/Basset Hound for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Blue Heeler/Basset Hound puppy from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Blue Heeler/Basset Hound breeders who help with Blue Heeler/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
