Hi there. My name is Baxter. I am about 8 months old and I weigh 52 lbs.
I was found as a stray in the Leetonia area by a sweet elderly lady. She took me in for a couple of days and really tried to find my owners but she was unsuccessful. I am young and was just too much for her to handle so she had to have the pound come pick me up.
I am a very very sweet guy looking for a new home. I get along great with other dogs. I love to play. I do kind of "guard" my toys from the other dogs though, so I must be in a home that is able to supervise me while playing with toys if I get a home with other dogs. I do not seem to try to guard with people. Only dogs. I have not tried guarding anything here at the pound, so this is possibly only a behavior I display once I am "comfy" in my surroundings, or it is possible that I only guarded with the one dog. The pound doesn't really know for sure.
I am a very, very sweet, nice boy with people. I am very friendly and loving. I am young and it appears that I haven't had a lot of training, so I can be a bit rambunctious at times. I could use a few manners and a little training, but other than that I am a very nice boy.

I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer.

HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.
MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY NEUTER SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.
THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
