My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luna needs strong, experienced human lead. This girl will do best with someone who is calm and confident, and able to take control of her natural exuberance. She is not a dog for a first-time owner! She loves children however with her excitable nature we will give preference to an adult only home and will not place her with children under 10. Luna is very dominant and can become aggressive with other dogs, we are working on her social skills but feel she should be an only dog.
She must have intense daily exercise. She would make a great jogging or hiking partner. But when playtime is done, she's a gifted snoozer!
Luna is reliably house-broken and will let you know when she needs to go outdoors to potty. She is crate trained, but can be trusted to be good when alone indoors. She never barks or fusses, except when asking to go out.
Highly trainable. At present, because of her aggression issues and excitable nature, it's hard to judge how far Luna could go in training. But given the social skills she needs, we think she could learn pretty much whatever you want to teach her.
Professional behavior modification recommended. We've seen a huge and puzzling variation in the way Luna reacts to other dogs. She is interested in touching noses and seems to want to play, and when there's a barrier in place she doesn't start fighting. On the other hand, when she encounters the other dogs in her foster home without a barrier between them she tends to be dominant, and with some of them (especially females) she instantly becomes seriously aggressive. This looks more like resource guarding (of her human) than fear aggression. We believe a professional trainer who is experienced in handling aggression issues could probably teach her how to react politely to other dogs met in public. In time, with a careful introduction and supervision, she could probably enjoy play with certain other dogs. She should not be asked to share her home with another dog.

Like all Mikey's Chance dogs, this dog will come to you from a foster home that has provided loving one-on-one attention, socialization and some basic training, as well as quality food and exercise.
