My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET BENTLEE:

Like the luxury automobile that inspired his name, once you get to know this fun, handsome, loving three year old, 9.6 lb white and brown dachshund, you'll fall in love immediately and want to take him home. BENTLEE enjoys car rides, cuddling with his family, playing with other dachshunds and of course...chasing squirrels. If you are one who enjoys the finer things in life and can give undivided, unconditional love and understanding attention to BENTLEE (and maybe some of your awesome home cooking), perhaps you will be the forever home he longs for. He will certainly give all of that and much more to you.

Note from ODR, Inc: BENTLEE had a great life up until a few months ago when his family made a major move and couldn't take him with them. Things would have been OK but when thrown together with other male dogs and one mean cat in a house with lots of activity, things changed for our little doxie. As a result, he continues to be a little timid and needs reassurance that things are OK.

Our Criteria (aka the Fine Print):

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:

All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give BENTLEE a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
