My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Chocolate Labrador Retriever/Boxer
Age: 2 years
Weight: 48 pounds
Good with dogs: Yes (submissive dogs are best)
Good with cats: Will Chase
Good with kids: Yes
Energy Level: High

Here is Normandy! Look at that adorably sweet face! She is a fun and active dog. She loves squeaky toys and she likes to play ball. She will throw the ball to herself if there isn't someone around to do it for her. She will engage other dogs to play by getting down on her elbows with her butt in the air. Normandy will rub up against you and nuzzle to get attention and some good petting. She likes to cuddle too. She makes adorable noises when she is pet/scratched or rubbed in the right spots. When she wags her tail, her whole back end moves with it. She will look out of her kennel for human attention. Paddington is food motivated so it will make it easier to teach her new tricks. She needs and active family/owner because she is a ball of energy and loves to run and play.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
