My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Niki: 10 yr old black & tan female, spayed, docked tail and cropped ears. 10", 5.2 lb. Fully vetted.
"Tiny but mighty. Hear me WOOF! Oh hi there! I'm Niki. Aren't I just the most adorable girl you have ever seen? For the record, I do not woof. I make roo-roo noises when I bark which makes my foster mom laugh. I am Ms. Personality, voted for by everyone. I also talk quite a bit to let her know what I want. If I need to go out, I talk. If I want on the bed, I let her know that too. Hungry? I talk. If she talks back to me, I talk more and become very animated. I throw back my head, open my mouth, and it looks like my face is nearly vibrating with the noises I make, and yes. they are all very different than most dogs. With that said, I probably would not do well in an apartment due to the close proximity of neighbors. I actually love the fenced yard here as it allows me to run and do my business in privacy. That reminds me! I am totally house trained. No accidents at all! I do not do well on a leash but could probably learn. As of now, a harness is a must to keep me from choking myself in the excitement of walking. I love walks, car rides, and exploring. Show me a leash, and I start spinning and grunting with excitement. I love everyone I meet and am instant friends with strangers. Due to my small size, if I go into a home with children, it is best if they are older and know how to handle dogs gently. I enjoy playing with balls. However, more than that I love sleeping under blankets. If my foster mom cannot find me, all she has to do is look under every blanket in the house. I'm sure to be somewhere. Right now, she feeds me separately from the other dogs. While we all get along, I am rather submissive and will let them take my food if they want it. She also has to put a bit of warm water on my kibble and let it soak, or else I will not eat. The only thing she's working on with me (cuz I am so smart, ya know) is crate training. I have never been in a crate and really did not like it at first, but now I am getting used to it. I know I would be a good girl if she left me in the house, but for some reason she does not believe that yet. If you think I'm the little senior love bug for you and want to give me a forever home to live out my golden years, please let my foster mom know! She says that even though I am a courtesy listing on IMPS (whatever that means), she still wants to follow IMPS procedures in finding me a forever home, so go on. Fill out an application asking for Niki, and she'll get back with you."
Note: Niki is located in Athens, GA - and we will not fly this girl.
