Atilla's Story...
Hi my name is Atilla and I am a sweet and entertaining 5 1/2 year old Coonhound who is looking for my forever home. I weigh about 50 lbs, have a sweet and loving personality and am very well mannered dog inside the home. And I have a very unique talent as I sing (actually they call it baying) when my foster mom comes home from work every day. It's my way of saying that I am happy to see her.

I was taken in by Paws 4 Humanity Inc when I was stuck at the Tallahassee Leon Community Shelter a little too long and needed to be rescued as I wasn't doing well confined at the shelter. I was one of the dogs at the Tallahassee shelter selected to be trained by one of the prisoners in the Utopia Prison Training program and learned a lot of obedience commands through the training. I know sit, down, stay, heel and walk great on a leash. Even though I knew my obedience commands and got walked once a day by one of the guardian angels who volunteer at the shelter, I was getting a bit anxious being penned up in a kennel. I am a working dog, and really need a fenced in yard to run and play and release my energy and I was getting a bit scared and a little too confined at the shelter.

Now I am being fostered by the president of Paws 4 Humanity Inc who has a heart as big as gold. My foster mom has trained me to like my crate while she is at work, and has trained me to use an "Inside Voice" when I get so excited and start singing when I am excited to see her when she comes home from work. I have also befriended a handsome little min pin named Wally who is my roommate at the rescue. I really like little Wally and play with him and treat him like he was my little son, even though we aren't at all related. Wally and I have become the best of friends.

I play well with the other dogs both large and small, am crate trained, house trained and am a great inside family dog. My foster mom thinks I am quite a character as I get so excited when I see her. I love going for walks and would need a fenced in yard to romp around and release my energy. At the same time I love my quality time with my foster family and enjoy just chilling out and snuggling with them. I am just the sweetest Coonhound on the planet and now it is time to find my fur-ever home.

If you are interested in meeting yours truly, the sweetest and absolutely stunning looking, well trained, diva dog on the planet than I am your girl. And if you are looking for a fun loving, happy go lucky, and entertaining companion than I am destined to be your next best friend. Please contact Paws 4 Humanity Inc at 904 771-9516 or shoot them an email to paws4humanity@att.net to request an adoption application which is the first step in their adoption process. Once your adoption application is approved you will then be able to meet yours truly, the singing Coonhound whose antics and great personality will keep you entertained for hours and whose personality is as sweet as apple pie where you can not help but want to take me home fur-ever. Love and kisses - Atilla.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Atilla, a Jacksonville Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Coonhound dog from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound breeders who help with Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
