My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zoey is a pit/boxer mix we believe is about two years old. She found herself pregnant and at an animal shelter in West Virginia that was extremely full. She gave birth to a whopping 13 puppies. She is and was a wonderful mother, and now that all of her babies are adopted into their furever homes she’s ready for her turn at a great new life. Her foster family says she’s a great girl and has done well in their home. She is fostered with a cat, and does well with some dogs as well as kids! She’s potty trained (another plus!) and listens very well. She has that happy-go-lucky personality that is typical of a Pit and the “Boxer wiggle” where she wags her bum if she’s happy! If you’re looking for a well-rounded, smart, adorable and loving addition to the family look no further because Zoey is the girl for you!

The Empty Shelter Project operates as a foster-based animal rescue. We do not have an actual facility for viewing dogs but potential adopters are welcome to meet dogs at our adoption events at PetValu every Sunday from 11-3. If you see a specific pet you would like to meet, please contact us in advance to make sure they will be at the event. PetValu is located at 10079 Market Circle Dr, Manassas VA 20110.
