Lucy's Story...
Lucy is a 4 month old black lab mix puppy that was found abandoned in a park. Her foster parents couldn't just leave her there as she was trying to go home with every person that came to walk. How sad! She is doing great in her foster home though! She is good with her new sister dog and kids that come to visit. She walks great on a leash and she is house trained. She sleeps all night in the bathroom without a sound and goes out first thing in the morning to potty. She is current on her vaccinations, dewormed, deflead, and spayed. She weighs 28 lbs currently. Now she is ready to go to a new home! (AE)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Hagerstown Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Hagerstown, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Hagerstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hagerstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hagerstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hagerstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
