My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is a courtesy listing and K9 Kindness is NOT the contact. For more information about adopting this puppy, please email Liz at lizcornxyz@hotmail.com

Meet Luna, the cute as a button, purebred Catahoula puppy. She is a true diamond in the rough. If you know anything about the Catahoula breed you’ll know that she is not a couch potato! This sweetheart is quite active, and loves to play and run her little heart out. Then when she is all tuckered out, she will take a power nap; that is when her sweet snuggly side comes out. She is an awesome snuggle buddy!

Luna also LOVES her food. This is good, because it is always easier to train a food motivated dog. Luna will need some special attention with her training, because she has the double merle genes which have affected her vision. She is not completely blind, as she can see shadows and light. Luna will need a special someone to carefully socialize her to many different people, situations, and dogs. She will need to meet others a little more slowly so that she does not become startled and fearful. People will need to use their voices and let her smell them before touching her.

Like many 4 month old pups, Luna is working on her crate training. She still needs a nighttime potty, but she is learning to do her business outside. Because of her vision impairment, Luna should be in a family without young children. She is good with other dogs and cats, and loves to play with other dogs. Like most active breed puppies, she plays pretty hard, so elderly dogs would not be a good match.

Luna needs a home with people who are looking for an active puppy to raise and train, and are willing to help her socialize properly with other people and dogs. In many ways raising a blind puppy is no different than raising a sighted one. As you can see, Luna needs a very special new person or family. In return she will be a loving, loyal, and fun lifetime companion.

Luna is a courtesy listing. She is located in Fruitland, IA. Her adoption fee is $50. For more information about adopting this puppy, please email Liz at lizcornxyz@hotmail.com
