My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Smoke is a gorgeous, petite, very shy little lady. She is timid when you first meet her, but then she warms up and becomes absolutely lovely. She is really stunning and so very sweet. She also loves other cats.

Smoke's story is really heartbreaking. She was dumped outside by her first owner. A kind woman began feeding her and other stray cats in the area. One day the woman came home and discovered Smoke waiting. Smoke was covered in kerosene and had a rope tied around her neck. Clearly some people had tried to grab her and set her on fire. Luckily she escaped, though the kerosene caused her to be in a lot of pain.

Smoke was brought to the vet for treatment, where she got a good bath. She purred the whole time, so happy to be safe. We decided she needed to be kept safe and loved forever, and so she was not put back outside. Since then, she has continued to blossom, charming everyone she meets. She would make someone a really fantastic cat.

Smoke's adoption fee of $95 includes her spay, deworming, shots, virus testing (negative), and microchip and registration. Smoke would do best in a home with other cats, whether it's one or a bunch of cats. She is very social with other kitties, though timid and not at all threatening.
