Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Shelby! Weighing in at a whopping 5.5 lbs, she still may have a bit of growing to do as we think she's 6-7 months old. Shelby is a sociable, happy and energetic little chi (shorthand for Chihuahua). She is most happy cuddled up on a lap (a typical chi characteristic) but always willing to play as well. She is catching on quickly to potty-training as she does her business as soon as she goes outside. The 2 families that have cared for her have both said she's a really smart, responsive and adaptable little girl. Shelby is comfortable in the crate and walks well on leash... but again, typical of chihuahuas, she doesn't like to be out long in cold weather. Shelby has been in the presence of other dogs on several occasions and does well with them.
Shelby would make a lovely addition to someone who is familiar with the breed, bringing a lot of love, humor and joy into that home. While this little girl is definitely child-friendly, we think it best that she not be adopted into a home with kids under 10 years old (we consider this on a case-by-case basis).
This video will show you what a cutie our little Shelby is.
Shelby's adoption fee of $300 includes: vet exam, distemper combination vaccination, bordetella and rabies vaccinations, fecal exam (neg), routine deworming, flea control, microchip and spay.
