My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION - COOS BAY, OR Foster

When pulled out of Devore in January, Regina was a mess. She was sick, she was 'aggressive' and she could only be released to a rescue. Songdog was full to capacity, but relented when nobody stepped up to the plate. We were surprised by just HOW sick Regina was though. She had a severe uterine infection, called pyometria, which required her to be taken straight to the vet and boarded there for almost a week while she recovered.

Unsurprisingly, after she started to feel better, the 'aggression' was no longer evident. She is petite for her cross, about 50 lbs, and is selective in who she likes, showing some reservations and fear with certain individuals but not others. She is believed to be about 7 years old, so has definitely mellowed out of all the puppy energy, and is ready to simply relax and be a loyal companion.

Timid when she first meets people, she does vocalize a little with low chuffs and growls. Patience and calming signals quickly bring her to your side though, and then she becomes very affectionate. She prefers men to women, but can be agreeable to both assuming she's given time. Due to her reserved nature, we wouldn't recommend her for a home with small children. Occasional visitors that are younger would be fine, assuming her owners are comfortable keeping her separate where she can't be cornered or surprised by a well-meaning toddler.
