Opie's Story...
This very happy face belongs to Opie! Opie is a large 3 1/2 year old Labrador Retriever mix. Opie is mostly black with some white accents. The best thing about Opie is he gets along with EVERYONE! Opie loves everyone he meets including kids, other dogs and even cats. Opie has such a wonderful temperament, he is so loving and friendly, he will be your best friend as soon as you meet him! He loves to play with other dogs and cats as you will witness in his video. Opie is currently not at the shelter. He is still in his family home. His family has to give him up, they wished they did not have to, but they must. So we would love for Opie to get adopted before he has to go back to the shelter (he is a Pet Project alumni), in mid April. This will make his transition so much easier. He is such a good boy and will do anything to please you. He knows commands and is very smart! Please email us for an application and we will make arrangements for you to meet him!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Opie, a Marseilles Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Marseilles, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Marseilles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marseilles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marseilles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marseilles paves the way for another one to be saved.
