My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Corgi/Terrier
Age: Approx 2
Weight: Approx 25 lbs
Good with dogs: Female and Calmer Dogs
Good with cats: Not Tested
Good with kids: Not Tested
Energy Level: Low to Medium

Poor Scout came to the shelter with three legs. We don't know how he lost his leg. He gets around just fine. However, he isn't too fond of being knocked over when dogs rough house with him. Can you blame him? He feels left out of the reindeer games. Scout has really soft fur is yearns to be loved. Despite his handicap, he does like to play with dogs. Scout loves to be around people. His fur is soft and plush. He really likes to be pet and will look up at you adoringly while you pet him. It's almost like he has a smile on his face when you give him attention.

If you would like to adopt Scout, please contact Brooke at doubledogbrooke@gmail.com

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
