My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buttercup is a snuggle bug and has loved everyone she has ever met. She is very laid back with people, gives kisses, likes belly rubs, and really likes her chin being scratched. She will also “dance” for treats! So adorable!

Buttercup is 5-year-old Pekingese, and at one point she had to have her eye surgically removed. This is not an unusual thing for a Peke, as they often experience chronic eye irritation because of the “squished” shape of their faces. She walks well on leash and is potty trained.

Buttercup gets along with some dogs, but not all, so she either should be an only dog, or introduced prior to adoption to other dogs in the home. Buttercup is going to start working with a trainer who can help her with her interactions with dogs and small children. She appears do well with school-aged children, but she does startle when woken up, so anyone with kids would need to be especially conscious of that.

Buttercup was found as a stray, and was obviously a mama dog in the past. She's been through some rough times and is looking for a new special someone to love her forever. Is that you?

This dog’s adoption fee is $225. Adopters must live within 150 miles or 3 hours drive of the Quad City area.
