My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlie is a sweet, playful 5-month-old puppy. Charlie is a handsome 26 lb. boy who is mostly white with patches of brown.
He and his sister, Lola, were at the top of the list to be euthanized at a rural KY shelter when they were pulled to safety by our rescue. After spending most of his young life in a shelter, he is very eager to find a forever home.
Charlie is learning many new things in his foster home such as: how to behave in a house, how to navigate stairs, and the all-important potty rules. So far he's making strides in all areas.
Charlie is a little shy when he first meet strangers, but then quickly warms right up to them. He's more the laid back couch potato type and is happiest indoors curled up snoozing. Charlie is very affectionate and enjoys attention. He loves to sit at your feet and be petted. He is actually relatively calm for such a young boy.
Charlie gets along with other dogs, and is kid and cat friendly. He has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, and microchipped. While he's undeniably cute (as puppies always are), please be realistic about ALL that is required to raise a happy, healthy, well behaved dog BEFORE you consider adopting a puppy. Remember...it's a life-long commitment!

Important: Charlie is not at a shelter where you can go to meet her. All Safe Hounds Beagles are cared for in a loving foster home. Prospective adopters MUST submit an adoption application and be pre-approved before meeting a dog. Submitting an application does not guarantee you will be approved. We are unable to accept applications for specific dogs and cannot guarantee the future availability of this or any dog listed. Once an application is approved, we’ll begin a matching process--the right dog for the right home. Please visit our web page: www.safehounds.com to learn more about the adoption process and to download our adoption application.
If you are unable to adopt at this time, please consider helping us so that we can continue to help them. We have dogs with medical needs and many hungry Beagles to feed. We are always in need of dog food and other items from our wish list as well as financial support to help us care for our dogs.
