Archie's Story...
Originally adopted out years ago, I was returned recently due to a change in family dynamics. I am an senior, protective fella who would prefer a home without children. Though I may be on the older side, I still love romping around and playing fetch. I'm a personable fella, but can get a little grumpy if attention on me is not evenly distributed and my food bowl is messed with before I've finished my meal. You know you want a handsome man like me – come in and meet me today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Archie, a Wilmington Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
