Duffy's Story...
Duffy is my name, although my foster mom calls me furr-ball. I love to have her hold me and I give her kisses. I also love to chase the tennis ball, and am always up for a game of tag with my sibings. The first step in applying for one of our pets is to fill out an application. This in no way obligates you to adopt. It helps our foster parents learn more about you, which helps them determine if the pet would be a good fit for your situation. Please log on to our website at www.bbcra.org then click on the button on the left-hand side that says Apply to Adopt.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duffy, a Pittsboro/Durham Collie/Golden Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Golden Retriever for sale in Pittsboro/Durham, or seeking a Collie/Golden Retriever puppy from a breeder in Pittsboro/Durham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittsboro/Durham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittsboro/Durham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Collie/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittsboro/Durham paves the way for another one to be saved.
