My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings from Chicago English Bulldog Rescue (CEBR FOR SHORT). Don’t be fooled by our name, we cover a large Midwest territory. We are the longest standing Bully rescue around and the only 501c3 charitable bully rescue in town. Become a fan of CEBR on Facebook or join our Meetup Group. Golden Girl Glam With A Sweet Disposition!

Hello, my name is Jelly Bean and I am an 8.5 year old sweet and lovely brindle bulldog. I am a sweet treat of a girl.

I lived with just one family my entire life, but they have fallen on hard times and realized that they could not take care of me the way a bulldog needs to be cared for. They made the very hard decision to give me to Chicago English Bulldog Rescue. I miss them but I am looking forward to my new life. I just want to let you know that there is no need to be worried that I am a golden girl. Seniors are the best! CEBR says we are the most rewarding rescues of all. And I feel good!

First things first, I went to see the vet to get a full physical and get caught up on my vaccinations. That vet, what a good guy, he gave me treats and more treats. I love treats! I take them very gently and ask for more. Okay, here is what he said about me, I am overall a healthy girl and with care and attention will start feeling even better. My ears and skin are infected so my foster family is helping me work on getting rid of the infections. I need daily eye drops and don’t see everything so well, but I see enough to get around just fine. And I always see the treats! I am going to need a very high quality diet and regular supplements to get my skin and coat back into shape. I am also going to need joint supplements, as any aging gal could use. I am pretty good about getting my drops and cleanings, but it is better if I get a treat!

I really like people and am curious about what is going on all the time. I love to be petted and cared for and doted upon. I dance around at meal time and give my foster parents play bows when I get excited. I am completely housebroken and can move around the house beautifully, including going up and down stairs. I am living with three other bulldogs and I like them so much! I live with dogs my entire life and am perfectly comfortable in a home with other pets.

I am looking for a family who will love my gentle sweetness, who has soft beds and lots of love, oh, and lots of treats.

Much love,

Jelly Bean
