My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zooey Deschanel has made multi-millions out of being a quirky gal. We think our quirky girl Margo is equally deserving of such prosperity, or at the very least a new forever home. This 8-year-old fluffy lady spent the last 9 months living with two international graduate students who took excellent care of her. However, they had to return her to PAWS before moving back to Taiwan when their vet advised that the international travel could be dangerous for her. Margo has spent most of her life in a home, and nothing would make her happier than charming a new family with her unique personality and goofy antics.

Described by some volunteers as looking like “a cross between a Cheshire Cat and a feather duster,” Margo’s sweetness is written all over her face. She starts purring the moment you walk in the room and never stops. She adores sitting in laps, and when she sits on you, she shows even greater affection by putting her paws on your face, staring lovingly at you with her adoring eyes, and cooing like a dove. Her former owners also said that she particularly loves having her ears rubbed and that she prefers being petted on her head rather than on her back and tail. At PAWS, she will occasionally enjoy having her tummy scratched with a broom or a wand toy.

Margo has a definite playful side as well. According to her former owners, she loves to chase laser pointers, bat wand toys, pounce on toy mice, chase shadows, and climb into paper bags and cardboard boxes. At PAWS, she also enjoys playing with paper. When Margo rolls over on her back and starts waving her paws, she’s telling you she’s ready for a piece of paper or a wand toy. Margo’s enthusiasm, along with her previous owners’ diligence and devotion, helped her lose about 5 pounds in the home! And may we say she looks fantastic!

Despite her silliness, Margo fancies herself a classy lady. Drinking water from a bowl like a common house cat is beneath her! Rather, Margo prefers to drink from a tall glass like she is having cocktails with you on a Saturday afternoon. Her previous owners said she will also drink from a cat water fountain.
Margo has a chronic digestive condition that requires regular medication and more frequent vet visits. Given the necessity to monitor this condition in addition to her fear of other pets and loud noises, Margo would prefer a quiet household where she is the only pet. She would also like to live with someone that is home frequently since she loves her humans so much that she can exhibit separation anxiety. Given these needs, it is recommended that Margo be adopted by an experienced cat owner. Once her personality comes out, we promise that she’ll be all the entertainment you need.

Do you have room in your heart for this silly sweetheart?
