Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Lucy Lu. She is a friendly playful dog but we can only place her with adopters who have a fence because she is deaf. She came to us with a dislocated knee that is healed now. She is a friendly girl, but we cannot place her with kids under the age of 8. She loves treats too much to trust her with small children with food in their hands. I believe she is housetrained, but she lives with other dogs that are not so we are not entirely sure. She always goes potty outside when she is out. She can be fenced in, but cannot be crated. She will do whatever she can to get out of a crate, but is ok gated in an area. She weighs about 40 lbs. She needs to be placed with people who want to train her. She if smart, but she needs some training. She will sit for her food, but we are working on leash walking. When she is not distracted she is fine, but if she is distracted, she is like a rocket so she needs some training on the leash. She loves squeaky balls and squeaky toys because of the air hold. We will only place her with dog sher size or larger then she is as well. She currently does live with smaller dogs and she does well as long as we separate her when she is being fed or given a treat. People can take her food, but she will not let another dog come near and she will try to take food from another dog. That is typical of many dogs, but we place dogs as safely as possible and find that people do not always pay attention to our observations and warning so we place restrictions because of people more than because of the dog. If you are interested in Lucy Lu, email eastohanimals@yahoo.com. We require an application and home visit. We answer all inquiries within 24 hours so if we do not respond, we may not have received your inquiry. Our adoption fee is $175.00 which does not cover all the vetting, food, heartworm prevention, and worming we put into a dog (not including any further vetting). Our dogs are well taken care of and we rely on adoption fees and donations. We are entirely a volunteer organization.
