My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi Everyone! My name is Bubba and I am a soon to be 20-year-old African Grey. I lived with my previous family my whole life until my Dad became ill and now I am in a great foster home with other Greys that I can talk to. I just had my check-up with the vet and he said that I am very healthy and in great plumage. It is believed that I am a male due to my size and head shape.
It took me a couple of days to warm up to my new household, but I really like the females in the home and will let them give me scritches and cuddle with me. The men folk are ok if they are giving me food but otherwise I do not like them so much. I even do not mind the dogs, even when they bark.
I am a bit cage defensive and will try to nip your hand if you stick it in my cage; however, my foster Mom is working with me on my cage manners. For now, I do like to sit on my perch on the cage door and when I am ready; I will step up my foster Mom and foster Sister.
I talk and can say: “Hello”, “I Love You”, “Nighty Night Boys” and a few other things my foster Mom has not been able to decipher. I can also mimic several sounds such as the phone-ringing, microwave, smoke alarm and many others.
I have great taste in music and will listen to anything from Rock to Classical. I like the music especially when my family is not home with me. I do like to dance with you if the mood suits me.
I like my weekly baths and like to be misted on a daily basis. After all, good hygiene is essential. Foster mom says I am a good eater. I like my pellets, and will eat fruits and veggies that they are giving me. I especially like my special treat, millet.
