My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jeepers, creepers– Peepers is still searching for her ‘furever’ home! Peepers came to us in the summer of 2013 as a stray from the City of Chicago’s Animal Care and Control program. A bit of a wild child, Peepers spent three months in the care of a foster mom who worked with her to help her learn to trust humans and to teach her some basic manners in order to set her up for success in a ‘purrrmanent’ home! She has been in two other foster homes since then where she’s made tremendous progress. Although she is not a good fit for a home with children or anyone lacking the time and patience to devote to a high-energy pet, she would make a ‘purrrect’ addition to a home with experienced cat owners.

Peepers is a sweet kitty who craves companionship and bonds quickly with her human companions. She is not shy about demanding attention from her human friends and would do well in a home where she is not left alone for too much time—so if you work from home, Peepers would love to keep you company! Peepers likes other cats and needs another cat at home that she can play with to keep her from getting bored, as this intelligent kitty has a tendency to get into trouble with too much free time on her hands… or should we say paws! She lived with another one of our kitties, Neo, in her last foster home and the two bonded quickly and became fast friends. Although it is not required that they go home together, Peepers is much more mellow in the company of her pal Neo and they would make a wonderful pair in a ‘furever’ home together!

Peepers has made TONS of progress in her foster homes, and has really opened up—becoming increasingly more friendly with each foster home. She went from being afraid of pets and chin scratches to snuggling with her foster mom on the couch and curling up with her at night. Energetic and curious, Peepers does have a tendency to nip for attention, as well as when she is over-stimulated. However, she does much better with another cat to keep her company and we know she will blossom in an adults-only home with patient, experienced cat owners who can help her nip these mouthy behaviors in the bud. Meet her and her friend Neo today to find out if you have the right home for their fun, feisty ‘purrrrsonalities’!
