When we saw Toffee laying on the concrete floor of her run at the local pound, unable to get up, we knew we couldn't leave her behind...this geriatric pittie/bulldog mix obviously had a rough life before being discarded- we can only hope her owners don't get a new puppy doomed to suffer the same fate. She was filthy, has some scars, and severe arthirits that she wasn't receiving any care for and made it tough for her to get around. She's feeling better already on some pain meds, and is loving the soft beds and TLC in her foster home. She even loves her foster buddy Fletcher (a senior beagle mix also looking for a home!) and seems to enjoy a doggie buddy. She doesn't ask for much- an orthopedic bed, a little head scratch, yummy meals and someone who will make sure she is loved and cared for the rest of her life, however long it may be. Her bloodwork was great for her age and other than the arthritis she doesn't appear to have any major medical issues. Please email if you are interested in giving sweet Toffee a forever home!
We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS).
