Bone's Story...
Bone was brought in as a stray someone had for 3 weeks. Obviously has been into some scuffles with other dogs. Was very afraid of us first couple of hours but made up and wagging tail but still cautious. He has had a very very very hard life. He was very hungry and filthy with lots of scabbed wounds upon arrival (3-31-14). We will work hard to heal all wounds...physical and psychological. Hoping for the best for this old soul. (we put no dogs because we haven't tested him to see why he has wounds..not sure who started the scuffle?) ADOPTED

Act quickly to adopt Bone. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bone, a New Martinsville Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in New Martinsville, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in New Martinsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Martinsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Martinsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Martinsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
