My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sponsor Me, Please -Winston is a life timer/haven dog due to his age and medical issues. Donations Needed & Appreciated: Please help us care for this sweet boy by sending a donation to help with his vet costs. Thank you for your kindness, any amount is greatly appreciated to help us care for him.

My name is Winston and I am a life timer here in rescue. I am a reddish, buff, older cocker boy about 14 years old, but hard to tell for sure because I was so badly neglected. I was picked up at a NC shelter after this rescue learned that it was my last day and if no one came for me, I would have died. My paperwork from the shelter stated that I was found as a stray, but turns out, the people who turned me in actually had me for years. I have lived a horrible, unloved, neglected life. The day they brought me to rescue I was badly matted, and with bad skin infections due to years and years of chronic neglect. When I was sent to be groomed and cleaned up, it took them several hours to shave me down. Then I was neutered, had a dental done and lost 4 teeth. I also had to have 5 tumors removed.

The rescue vet found out that I have mass cell cancer, but they got all the tumors removed, so now I'm just on meds to help me feel better. Only bad thing, every time a tumor shows up again,
it will need to be removed and they don't know for sure how long I will live, so I just take each day
and go from there. This rescue has been hit hard financially as my first vet bill was $1327, which is a huge amount of money for them to spend to care for just one dog. Thank goodness for these wonderful folks who really seem to care about me and have shown me nothing but kindness to help me feel better. Please help them to cover some of my costs by donating to help with my care. If you would like to be one of my "Angel Sponsors", please send your donation in today to: Charlotte Cocker Rescue, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28181. I am a sweet boy and I really need your help to cover my costs right now as these nice folks are trying hard to keep me comfortable. They have shown me kindness and are truly willing to go the extra mile for me.

Despite everything I've been through, I love attention and I am just a wonderful cocker boy with a great disposition. I also needed heartworm treatment, so I just recently had my last phase done and now I hate being crated, but I know that it's because I need to rest & recover. I am now a loving old soul of a guy who looks lots better than when I first arrived. I am still plagued with skin problems but hoping that a new drug that they just started me on will help, along with my special food and thyroid meds.

If you can help us out by sending in a donation, Winston would greatly appreciate your help. It isn't his fault that he was so badly neglected, unloved and then he had to pay the price too! Please be one of his Angels.....donate to his care......he deserves a better life and being loved for however long he has left to live.
