My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET CODY:

A bit of poetry in motion is our little 2.5 year old, 14 lb CODY:

C is for Cute, Cuddly and Chilled. (He is AKC, but has no papers).
O is because he gets along well with Others: other doxies, cats and kids.
D is for being so Delicious, you will want to kiss him all the time and he will kiss back and he can use the doggy door.
Y means YES...you want to be his perfect, loving, forever family!

A NOTE FROM HIS FOSTER MOM:
What is there not to love about CODY? This sweet, obedient, mellow little boy wants a family to call his own. He has energy to play and go for walks but also loves to lie beside you on the couch or your bed just chillin' out. He can used a doggy door and knows how to sit on command. He doesn't want to be left at home if you're running errands and is learning to sit quietly on the seat on a pillow so he can see out the window. CODY even disregards cats as housemates!! Really, he's the Perfect dog looking for the Perfect forever family.

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give CODY a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
