Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please visit our main website at www.boxer-rescue-la.com for most recent list of available Boxers and to fill out an adoption application. Due to the volume of inquiries our volunteers receive we are unable to reply to inquiries without a completed adoption application.

Peepers was found left in a pet carrier at a local dog park. She is completely blind. It is anyone’s guess if she was born blind or became blind. Her eyes are healthy with no pressure or discomfort. She was first taken into a home with 2 German Shepherds, 1 Boston and 2 cats. Animal Control came and said three dogs is the limit so BRLA was asked to help. In her current foster home she has two Boxers that serve as her seeing-eye dogs as they have an unspoken and unseen communication that humans do not.
Peepers is incredibly self-sufficient in the right environment. Her perfect home would be single story, not have a lot of clutter and furniture should not be moved much. Other pets need to be well balanced to not surprise her and to not react to the occasional collision. Since blind dogs can be easily startled an adult only home or one with teenagers who understand how to properly approach Peepers would be best. She also should not be left alone for long periods of time so work from home or stay at home is best to avoid accidential injury due to her lack of vision. Most important quality is for someone who loves to cuddle as Peeps is the perfect lap dog and loves to burrow under the covers at night.
This is one very special little girl. She may be a designer hybrid of Boxer and Boston Terrier or just the smallest Boxer we have ever seen. She needs an equally special home to allow her to thrive and enjoy her life to the fullest.
Note from Peepers foster home:
Peepers is a sweet young lady who has now learned to navigate our home with all it's twists and turns and the occassional step. She comes to work with us and also has a solid foundation of our office and our daily routine. We see her self esteem and confidence growing daily. She sleeps in our daughters bed where she is the only dog in the room with just one person in bed. She loves to cuddle. Peepers will thrive in a calmer home. She is great on a leash and is playing with her toys to prevent her from being confusted and/or mouthy with your hand. She is easy to fallin love with and once placed in a permanent home will be a true gift and joy.
Peepers is not at BRLA. If interested in adopting her please ask for her by name on your application and a meeting will be set up at earliest convenience.
